The experienced team at Florida Benthic has 40 years of combined experience working for leading research institutions such as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, The Nature Conservancy, and DEP’s Aquatic Preserves program. Our biologists are experts in the design and management of monitoring programs focused on benthic resources.

Additionally, each member of our team is an experienced scientific diver with an exceptional safety record.

Sara Bergeron, owner of Florida Benthic Surveys and Monitoring LLC, has extensive experience as a field and research biologist for federal and state agencies, as well as global non-profits. Her research on stony corals, oyster reefs, and seagrass beds has taken her across Florida, the Gulf States, and the Caribbean. Sara also holds the Special Activity License for Florida Benthic.
